Introduction
Soil Test Data is collected from ALDOT labs located throughout the State of Alabama. Ten labs collect soil samples from their geographic region and distribut the samples to all other labs. Starting in January ALDOT Division 1 will collect and distribute its samples to all other labs. Each lab will run the same series of tests on these samples. In February Division 2 will do the same thing and this continues for each of the ten labs finishing in October with the Central Office lab.

The Soil Test Data Control (STDC) application facilitates the input and reporting of this data. The remainder of this document will explain how to use the features of STDC.

Logging In
This newest version of STDC supports login once. In the previous version STDC treated each tool as an individual application. This meant that for each activity you were forced to log in. So you log into Reports and then click on Edit Data and the login form would be displayed. In fact even clicking on the Reports link forced a new login. This has been changed.

If your login supports the tool then you will not be prompted for your login again until you log out or end the session by closing Internet Explorer Web Browser.

Your login name and password likely only grant you access to Reports, and Edit Data. Settings, Materials, and Yearly Reports require special permission. So, in this case you will be presented with the login and password screen.

There is no need to login again. The program will remember who you are. Click On Reports and the Report controls will be displayed again.

To log in, type your user name - this will likely be the same as your window's user name, for example my user name is stefanchukm for Mark Stefanchuk. Tab, or use the mouse to move to the password field. Here you type the password you were given when you received the link to the application. Now click on the Log In button to start the program.

When you click the log on button you will be taken to the application's main page. The controls for the application will become enabled if your user name and password were accepted.

You may not have access to all applications. Everyone with an accepted user name and password will be able to run the Reports application.

The Edit Data can be edited by admin users and selected lab users. In most cases your log in will only allow you to add new data for your lab. The application admin does have the ability to assign a user the ability to change all data. For more information on this see the settings help section.
